The Just5 J509 is a new mobile phone with large keys and very simple, basic features. This phone is ideal for seniors who want a cell phone without all the bells and whistles. You can purchase this phone unlocked—meaning the phone can be used with any GSM carrier in the U.S.—for just $119.99. Two GSM carriers exist in the U.S.: T-Mobile and AT&T.
The J509 is relatively small, but as previously mentioned, its keypad buttons are quite large. The display is only 1.8 inches, though the text is large and legible and set against bright backlighting making it easier to read. You can send SMS messages with the J509; texts are, of course, composed via the keypad. One of the few features found on the phone is an FM radio. Also included are a charger and headset jack, voice mail, speakerphone, calculator, an emergency SOS button, 100 entry phonebook, and alarm clock. J509 phones are available in red, orange, gray, black, and white. While not the hippest phone on the planet, the J509 is ideal for seniors in search of value and simplicity in a mobile device.
