HTC HD2

The HTC HD2 is first in a new generation of smartphones. So what does it do? The real question should actually be what CAN’T it do. The HD2 comes with an enormous 4.3 inch HTC Sense touch screen that is ideal for viewing videos, browsing the web, and operating apps. The 1 GHz processor, coupled with impending network upgrades, will make mobile video streaming and downloads a viable option on this phone in the very near future. Due to its screen size, the HD2’s large onscreen touch keyboard guarantees faster, more accurate typing. A 5 megapixel auto-focus camera and dual LED flash technology allow users to snap high-quality photos even in dark conditions. Indeed, this is the king of entertainment smartphones. And yes, the HD2 also makes phone calls.

The HD2 isn’t without flaws. Oddly, it functions on the Windows Mobile 6.5 OS rather than the more recent Windows 7. Furthermore, the sheer size of this 5.5 ounce revolutionary smartphone might prove to be too bulky for some users—especially for those who want to carry it in their pockets. Holding this monster device up to your ear while making phone calls cannot be the most comfortable experience either. On the other hand, those who purchase the HD2 aren’t doing so for its wireless phone calling capabilities.
