Motorola Atrix 2 Review

The Motorola Atrix was a groundbreaking phone when it was released, yet as time went on, the problems with the phone became very apparent. Motorola took the criticism and made some important changes, resulting in the Atrix 2. They increased the screen to 4.3 and removed the Pentile display, so the larger screen looks better, has crisp text and deep colors with 540×960 pixel resolution. Motorola also decreased the thickness of the phone to .40 inches, so while it’s bigger at 4.96 by 2.59 inches, it still fits well into the average size hand. Other than that, it still has the same basic design as the Motorola Atrix. Motorola did remove the fingerprint reader, but they included other security devices, like On Device Encryption.
Also added is an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash that takes crisp and clean pictures with an upgraded video camcorder that records 1080p HD video. Running the Atrix 2 is a dual core 1.5GHz TI OMAP processor. You have the choice between a standard Android keyboard or SWYPE for messaging, texting and web browsing. For the music lovers, an added feature includes the lyrics displayed while the song is playing. While some won’t care, this is a cool and unusual feature to the standard smart phone music player. The sound is deep and full. Web browsing and download speeds are incredibly fast. Motorola improved it’s compatibility with the AT&T network, so download speeds are noticeably better than the original Atrix.

We recommend protecting your Motorola Atrix 2 and an Otterbox case is one of the best on the market. The OtterBox Commuter Series case for the Motorola Atrix 2 phone offers the best of both worlds; incorporating elements from the rugged Defender Series line with the silicone, skin-like Impact Series line to create a slick Motorola Atrix 2 case designed with your style in mind. It’s protection without the bulk. The exposed silicone corners dissipate impact away from the Motorola Atrix 2 device for additional bump and shock protection and the smooth outer layer allows the case to easily slide into your pocket or purse. All buttons are fully functional through the Motorola Atrix 2 case and all ports are accessible through silicone plugs.
All Motorola Atrix 2 protective cases and screen protectors are available at http://www.discountcell.com/cellular/prodcat/moatrix-2_12.
We also recommend having a reliable back-up charger and an external battery pack is an excellent option. No more running out of power! Ideal for long flights, outdoor activities and serious road trips, the high capacity Naztech n301is a compact lithium polymer power source for charging your Motorola Atrix 2 USB input device. It’s small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, yet provides 1800 mAH of power – that is power up to 3 times the standard battery! What completes this device is the built-in flashlight to find your way around the dark and a convenient built in battery indicator that lets you know how much battery power is left. The Motorola Atrix 2 n301 battery pack can be recharged from any computer USB port or, when used with the optional Naztech n300, a standard wall power outlet in addition to any standard vehicle adapter. Great for business trips, vacations or long drives. Just simply connect and charge! You’ll never be caught powerless again.

HTC Hero S 4G Review

The HTC Hero S 4G from US Cellular is a high quality, well-built smart phone that definitely delivers. Starting with the body, the phone measures 4.78 by 2.43 by 0.46 inches and weighs 4.59 ounces. While this may seem small next to the many 5 inch and larger phones available, the Hero S is actually a fantastic size, perfect for any size hand and slips easily and comfortably into your pocket. The 4 inch screen is plenty big enough to read web pages, email and watch movies and with the qHD 960×540 pixel resolution display, you’ll never be disappointed in the quality. The display is extremely crisp, bright and has incredible detail. The screen is also very responsive, with the help of a Qualcomm MSM8665 1.2 GHz processor.
The Hero S also has Android 2.3 Gingerbread and HTC Sense user interface. The Sense is one of the best UI available, making it overly simple to organize your widgets and apps, customize your home screen and your locked home screen and the 3D carousel gets you to the home screen you need immediately. The Hero S also has all the standard smart phone features – Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 5-megapixel camera with flash and 720p HD video capture, front facing 1.3 megapixel camera, DLNA, MHL, and tethering. The 1520mAh battery has a rated talk time of 7.25 hours and standby time of 456 hours, so it’ll last a full day without a charge.

We recommend having a Bluetooth headset, especially if you use your phone while you have your hands full or while you’re driving. Make talking on your HTC Hero S 4G mobile phone more comfortable and flexible than ever with the new HK210 Bluetooth headset. The HK210 offers a great combination of comfort and long battery life that ensure that it’s a HTC Hero S 4G Bluetooth headset that can keep up with you. Talk all day, every day with the TrueComfort ear cushion, up to 8 hours of talk time and easy voice prompts that act as your personal guide.
Getting started has never been easier. HK210 talks you through a step-by-step process to pair your HTC Hero S 4G headset, informs you when the mute is on or off and even tells you if the battery is low; among other voice prompts that help you stay connected. If the headset fits, wear it. And if it feels as good as the HK210 does, you may never take it off. HK210’s TrueComfort ear cushion and lightweight compact design ensure a comfortable fit that stays put no matter how many people you need to catch up with or errands you have to run.

We also recommend having a secure car mount if you plan on using your phone while driving. In many states it’s required to have a hands free device in your car if you’re using a phone and a car mount is an ideal product, especially if it has a signal booster integrated into it. The Wilson plug-and-play Sleek helps users reduce HTC Hero S 4G dropped calls, increase HTC Hero S 4G data rates in weak signal areas and originate HTC Hero S 4G calls from those dreaded “dead spots”. The Sleek and its external vehicular antenna increases any phone’s output power to the cell site while improving its ability to hear signals it normally cannot, keeping the user more reliably connected. Designed for simple set up, the Sleek™ can be easily moved from vehicle to vehicle. Built into the Sleek™ cradle is a Wilson tried and tested bi-directional signal amplifier and battery charging port. The cradle is ideal for hands free operation in conjunction with a HTC Hero S 4G user’s headset or Bluetooth device.

HTC Vivid Review

The HTC Vivid is the first cell phone on the AT&T 4G LTE network and is well prepared for the task at hand. The body of the phone is 5.07 by 2.64 by 0.44 inches and weighs 6.24 ounces, making it larger and heavier than other phones on the AT&T network and not very pocket friendly. However, some of the weight comes from the reinforced steel back, so you know it’ll withstand the day-to-day usage. The 4.5 inch qHD S-LCD display is beyond words. The 540×960 pixel resolution results in 245 ppi, which means fantastic graphics and deep colors. Lines are crisp and clean, which is important for texts, emails and web browsing.
Speaking of web browsing, even in areas that do not have 4G LTE yet, the phone still runs on 4G HSPA+ speeds, which are extremely fast and reliable. So download all the apps, movies, music and documents and get what you need in seconds. The Vivid has Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread and a Qualcomm APP8060 dual core 1.2GHz. Besides the fact that the Vivid is AT&T’s first 4G LTE phone, it also has an incredible 8-megapixel camera. Colors show up very realistic and detail is captured without any problem. Don’t worry about blurry pictures anymore – HTC made sure the autofocus was one of the best. Apply one of twelve photo modes to switch it up a little. Capture a video with the 1080p HD video capture and rest assured it’ll look fantastic when you show it later on your HD TV.

Even with a steel back, we highly recommend protecting your phone with either a case or a protective cover. An Otterbox cover is one of the best on the market. The OtterBox Commuter Series case for the HTC Vivid phone offers the best of both worlds; incorporating elements from the rugged Defender Series line with the silicone, skin-like Impact Series line to create a slick HTC Vivid case designed with your style in mind. It’s protection without the bulk. The exposed silicone corners dissipate impact away from the HTC Vivid device for additional bump and shock protection and the smooth outer layer allows the case to easily slide into your pocket or purse. All buttons are fully functional through the HTC Vivid case and all ports are accessible through silicone plugs.

We also recommend having a reliable back up charger. An external battery pack is the perfect accessory, especially if you travel or spend time outdoors. No more running out of power! Ideal for long flights, outdoor activities and serious road trips, the high capacity Naztech n301is a compact lithium polymer power source for charging your HTC Vivid USB input device. It’s small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, yet provides 1800 mAH of power – that is power up to 3 times the standard battery! Samsung Galaxy Note Review
Posted on November 3, 2011
Filed Under accessories, Cell Phones, Samsung | Comments Off
The Samsung Galaxy Note definitely differentiates itself from other smart phones on the market by its size. Is it a small tablet or a large smart phone? Instead of getting a tablet and a smart phone, like so many other people have, this combines both products into one. It measures 5.78 by 3.27 by 0.38 inches. The 5.3 inch screen take up most of the front of the phone. You may worry that with this large of a screen, the graphics and text will be pixelated. Samsung thought this through and provided a Super AMOLED 800×1280 pixel resolution screen, so everything is crisp and clean. While this Android Gingerbread device is a phone, most people will probably want it because of it’s innovative features including note taking, picture editing and movie watching abilities.
The Galaxy Note comes with a stylus and special apps that take full advantage of the stylus. The S Memo app gives you tons of options with your note taking and the S Planner replaces your calendar, giving you a full planner to organize your life. The Galaxy Note also has an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video capture, front facing 2 megapixel camera, FM radio, NFC chip, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS. Behind it all is a dual core 1.4GHz processor and a 2500 mAh battery. The rated talk time on the battery is 13 hours and the standby times is 570 hours. On the 3G network, the battery life is also great – talk time of 4.6 hours and standby time of 390 hours. You can easily get a day, day and a half of web browsing and movie watching.
All Samsung Galaxy Note accessories are available at http://www.discountcell.com/cellular/samsung-galaxy-note-accessories.htm.
Because the Samsung Galaxy Note is so large, you probably don’t want to hold it up to your ear when making a call. A Bluetooth headset solves this problem. Have clear conversations while keeping the Galaxy Note in your bag. The HM3700 mono and stereo-convertible Bluetooth headset packs chart-topping features in a streamlined form factor. By simply pairing with a Bluetooth- enabled device capable of stereo music streaming and plugging in the supplied premium stereo earbuds, the HM3700 headset transforms from a communication device to a concert for the ears. Simple voice commands provide full control to play, stop or skip songs, answer or make calls, and more. The HM3700 is engineered with Android application support, adding a wealth of advanced features and controls to an Android -compatible Bluetooth handset. Thanks to this sophisticated technology, you can easily manage text-to-speech setting, connection settings, caller ID, and alarms; monitor your headset status on your phone; and maximize text-to-speech and voice command capabilities based on your personal preferences. Maximize your wireless communication and entertainment experience with the HM3700.

We also recommend having a reliable charger and a charging bundle is a great option. Giving you the ability to charge with either a wall charger, a vehicle charger or a USB charger, you can charge your phone anywhere at anytime. Never have to carry 2 separate Samsung Galaxy Note chargers again! 1 cable works with both the vehicle power adapter and wall charger. The included data cable charges your Samsung Galaxy Note phone and allows you to transfer data from your Samsung Galaxy Note phone to your computer or vice versa [software not included - use 3rd party or OEM]. Combine the cable with the charger heads [VPA and Travel Charger] to fully charge your Samsung Galaxy Note handset at home, business or in your car. The compact design adds to the portability of this product, making it easy to travel without the hassle of multiple cords.

Samsung Gravity TXT Review
Posted on November 2, 2011
Filed Under accessories, Cell Phones, Samsung, T-Mobile | Comments Off
Available from T-Mobile, the Samsung Gravity TXT is another addition to the well-known Gravity line. Built around messaging, this feature phone is great. The phone measures 4.41 by 2.09 by 0.55 inches and the full QWERTY keyboard slides out with ease and locks in solid, so you feel secure while typing messages or emails. The screen rotates automatically when you open the keyboard. The keys are flat and slightly stiff, so it may take some getting used to. There are plenty of shortcut keys, including emoticons, web browsing, messaging and social media apps.
If you want to send a quick text, you can use the alphanumerical keypad on the front of the phone. The Gravity TXT has a 2-megapixel camera that takes better than expected pictures and also has video capture capabilities. Instead of a d-pad, Samsung installed an optical joystick to navigate the menus. The display is 2.4 inches that supports 262,000 colors. The display is great for a feature phone. The Gravity TXT has Bluetooth, USB syncing, voice commands, TeleNav GPS, RSS reader, Social Buzz and a multimedia player. The Social Buzz connects you to Facebook, MySpace and Twitter with ease.
All Samsung Gravity TXT accessories are available at http://www.discountcell.com/cellular/samsung-gravity-txt-t379-accessories.htm.
We recommend protecting your phone and a great option is a colorful protective cover. These do not add bulk but protect the body of the phone from scratches and bumps. They are designed exclusively for the Samsung Gravity TXT so all ports, buttons and the screen are open and accessible at all times. Protective coves are easy install and remove, yet are secure while they are on the phone. Combine a protective cover with a screen protector for full coverage. A screen protector is thin enough that it doesn’t interfere with the receptiveness of the screen and still provides enough protection to make the screen scratch resistant.
Find all Samsung Gravity TXT protective covers and screen protectors at http://www.discountcell.com/cellular/prodcat/sagravity-txt_12.
Another protective option is a leather case. These offer 360 degrees of protection, look sophisticated and fit into any situation. The Samsung Gravity TXT T379 Brown Naztech Kaskade delivers the perfect combination of elegance and durability. The Kaskade’s superior design entertains a distinct air of professionalism and style, and its imported, high-quality material will protect the longevity of your Samsung Gravity TXT T379 mobile device. The Brown Kaskade features flexible, elastic sides that can easily be adjusted for optimal convenience, and its rotating clip is ideal for securing it in place. Executive in appearance and sturdy in composition, the Brown Kaskade is an excellent companion for Samsung Gravity TXT T379 phones.
