The Sony Ericsson Xperia arc S is the next generation Xperia arc. It keeps the features that made the Xperia arc popular and adds style. The Xperia arc S keeps the same measurements at 4.92 by 2.48 by 0.34 – thin, light and easy to hold. The back of the phone curves from 0.34 cm in the middle to 0.39 cm to each side. The high quality plastic body will hold up to day-to-day usage. The 4.2 inch screen has 480×854 pixel resolution and has the addition of the Mobile BRAVIA Engine, making the Reality Display. The contrast and sharpness is incredible and while it’s not an HD screen, HD videos and games look great. Running on a single core 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor and 512MB of RAM, the arc S can handle apps and daily tasks easily and efficiently. Pantech Element p4100 Review

The Pantech Element is Pantech’s first attempt at a tablet and they did a decent job for just hitting the market. They did set themselves apart from their competition with some risks and these risks seems to be paying off. The Element is the first tablet to be IP57 certified, meaning it can be under 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes without damage. While it’s not a “rugged” tablet, it can withstand a drop in a puddle or the sink. One reason it’s waterproof is the covers over all of the ports. The Element measures 8.36 by 6.12 by 0.42, giving it a square appearance next to the other tablets. The 4:3 aspect ratio does makes a few things fit a little differently, for example the keyboard takes up more room on the screen and HD videos don’t fit the screen as naturally. However, everything else looks great. The Element has Android 3.2 and has a promise to upgrade to Gingerbread in the near future. The dual core 1.5GHz Qualcomm APQ8060 and 1GB of RAM makes it extremely smooth and sleek.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play 4G is now available from AT&T, making it available to more gamers. Many consider this version a step up from the Verizon Wireless version because it runs on AT&T HSPA+ 4G network. The Xperia Play 4G has the comfortable contour everyone expects from Xperia handsets and fits well in your hand to make phone calls, use apps or to play games. The phone measures 4.69 by 2.44 by 0.63 and weighs 6.17 ounces, giving it a hefty and solid feel. The extra weight comes from the game pad that slides out from under the screen. On the game pad are two circular touch controls, and two physical button directional controls. You use the same controls to use apps, make calls, send messages and use standard features if you don’t want to use the touch screen. The screen is 4 inches and has 480×854 pixel resolution with great details, deep colors and wide viewing angles. Android Gingerbread has a few tweaks from Sony Ericsson Timescape, but is mostly an Android experience. The Xperia Play 4G comes with Asphalt 6 Navigator, Crash Bandicoot, Dungeon Defenders: Second Wave, Madden NFL 11, Star Battalion, Tower Bloxx: My City, and The Sims 3 preloaded.

LG Optimus Sol Review

The LG Optimus Sol is a solid mid-level phone. It measures 4.82 by 2.46 by 0.38 and weighs 3.77 ounces, so it’s light and very comfortable to hold. The phone looks good with a glossy finish and is resistant to fingerprints. LG named the 480×800 pixel resolution display “Ultra” AMOLED and it looks great. There are intense colors and deep blacks, making great graphics. The Optimus Sol has Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread with an added feature called the Dark UI theme, which minimizes battery usage by using as little white light as possible. The rest of the Optimus UI is the same, with 7 customizable home screens.
Many people don’t think about call quality for their smart phone, even though that’s one of the main purposes of a phone. LG made sure the call quality is great with 2 microphones, placed strategically for noise cancelling. This is a feature usually reserved for high end phones. Inside the Optimus Sol is 512MB of RAM and 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor which runs the phone with efficiency. It also has an Adreno 205 GPU for graphics. As far as connectivity, the Optimus Sol has 3G capabilities, Wi-Fi, DLNA, Bluetooth and GPS. The 5-megapixel camera takes good pictures, however it does not have a flash. The camera also has 720p video capture.

LG Prada 3.0 Review

LG and Prada have collaborated again and made a third version of the fashion centered phone, called the LG Prada 3.0. Slightly larger than its predecessors, the design of the phone as well as the interface are simple with a black/gray/white color interface. The Prada 3.0 measures 5.02 by 2.72 by 0.33 inches and weighs 4.87 ounces. The body of the phone is an exact, crisp rectangle. While it’s a larger phone, it’s easy to handle with one hand. The back of the phone is plastic with a Saffiano leather pattern, giving it the classic Prada look.
