iPhone 3G Due Friday

The long awaited iPhone 3G is due to hit the shelves this Friday. It will be interesting to see if there is the same hoopla surrounding its release. After the price drop issues on the first iPhone last year, it will be interesting to see if some sit on the sidelines to see if similar price drops occur on the 3G model a few months from now.
From a speed perspective, it seems this new version will live up to the demands non 3G iPhone users have had.
AT&T will again be the only US provider offering the phone and is requiring a fairly stiff contract to get the phone at a decent price. The non contract version is pretty expensive.
