G1 Android Phone Launched Today by Google and T-Mobile

The first Android phone has hit the market. T-Mobile and Google jointly announced the G1 phone made by HTC.
The phone is $179 with a T-Mobile voice contract and data is $25 a month with limited messaging and $35 with unlimited messaging.
One of the key features of the Android platform is the openness to third party developers.
