Motorola Droid Razr Maxx Review

Companies often release second generation phones, but usually it’s not weeks after the first generation is let out. The only reason Motorola would release a new version of the Droid Razr would be if they had an extraordinary update and in this case, it’s beyond incredible. Motorola managed to keep the Droid Razr incredibly thin and yet still added a 3300 mAh battery, the largest battery that has ever been installed in a cell phone. The battery lasts 21.9 hours of usage and 15 days of standby in the phone and only increased the thickness by .07 inches and the weight by a few ounces. It still has the Kevlar backing, making the battery irremovable, but increasing the toughness of the phone.

Another thing Motorola increased was the storage – 16MB of internal storage and a 16MB storage card. Motorola managed to fit the battery in by filling in the hump on the back of the Droid Razr, making the phone feel more balanced and secure in your hand. As far as software, Motorola added security including government-grade FIPS 140-2 encryption, remote wipe, PIN lock, SD card and device encryption, and remote enable/disable of camera and Wi-Fi. Other than the increase in power, memory and security, the rest of the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx is pretty much unchanged. So if you waited to buy the Droid Razr, count yourself lucky and get the more powerful version now.

The LG Spectrum is available on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network. It was built to rival the super phones coming out from the competition and it meets or beats these phones. The Spectrum has an absolutely beautiful HD screen, fast processor and comes with the promise of being upgraded to Android ICS within the next few months. While most smart phones have a very similar look, it’s the little details that set phones apart. The Spectrum has a black and gray checkered back and a dark gray metallic boarder. The home button on the bottom looks like it’s silver metallic inlaid on a light gray background.

The 4.5 inch 1280×720 pixel resolution screen looks beyond words. Incredible detail, colors that look completely natural and text looks like the printed page. LG added a few things to the Android Gingerbread, including organizational features to the apps that categorize them and gestures that make using the phone easier. Other than that, it’s a pretty vanilla Android experience with all of the customizing options. Also included are the usuals – Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, mobile hotspot, GPS, DLNA, MHL, tethering, and multimedia capabilities. The 8-megapixel camera takes fantastic pictures and the 1080p HD video capture is great. Running the Spectrum is a 1.5GHz dual core Snapdragon S3. It’s extremely smooth and apps load immediately. The Motorola Droid 3 has been released through the Verizon network and it looks like it’s the best one yet. Like the previous Droid and Droid 2, it has the full physical QWERTY keyboard, however, this time it’s a 5-row keyboard with an added number row. Other additions to the Droid 3 include the 4-inch qHD touch screen, Android 2.3, dual core processor, 16 GB of internal memory and an 8 megapixel camera with 1080p HD video capture. The screen is impressive, with 540×960 pixel resolution, the screen makes graphics, movies, web browsing and pictures look fabulous.

Motorola added complex password capabilities, remote wipe, and data encryption ensure you’re information is always protected. Inside the phone is a 1GHz dual core TI OMAP processor and 512MB of RAM, making it run extremely fast.
