Motorola and Verizon released two tablets that are for all intents and purposes identical except for the size. The 10.1 mz617 tablet is obviously the larger one, making it better for viewing web pages and movies and editing documents. Typing on the 10.1 is easier since the keys are bigger, giving you a more full sized keyboard experience. The Xyboard 10.1 runs on the Verizon 4G LTE network which making it extremely fast and reliable. This is definitely the selling point of the Droid Xyboards. While paying for 4G LTE monthly price can be expensive, for many people it’s worth it.

The body of the tablet is 10×6.83×0.35, making it thin and light. The corners are tapered in which sets it apart from all of the other tablets on the market. The screen is 1280×800 pixel resolution with 16 million color support and is covered in Gorilla Glass. Extremely responsive and graphics look great, the screen is everything you want. Inside the Xyboard 10.1 is a dual core 1.2GHz TI OMAP 4430 processor, a well known and powerful processor that can handle any app you throw at it. It has Android 3.2 Honecomb and is completely customizable. While you have the options of the virtual keyboards, the Xyboard 10.1 also comes with MyScript Stylus input that puts a square on the screen that allows you to write the words. Companies often release second generation phones, but usually it’s not weeks after the first generation is let out. The only reason Motorola would release a new version of the Droid Razr would be if they had an extraordinary update and in this case, it’s beyond incredible. Motorola managed to keep the Droid Razr incredibly thin and yet still added a 3300 mAh battery, the largest battery that has ever been installed in a cell phone. The battery lasts 21.9 hours of usage and 15 days of standby in the phone and only increased the thickness by .07 inches and the weight by a few ounces. It still has the Kevlar backing, making the battery irremovable, but increasing the toughness of the phone.

Another thing Motorola increased was the storage – 16MB of internal storage and a 16MB storage card. Motorola managed to fit the battery in by filling in the hump on the back of the Droid Razr, making the phone feel more balanced and secure in your hand. As far as software, Motorola added security including government-grade FIPS 140-2 encryption, remote wipe, PIN lock, SD card and device encryption, and remote enable/disable of camera and Wi-Fi. Other than the increase in power, memory and security, the rest of the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx is pretty much unchanged. Motorola Atrix 2 Review

The Motorola Atrix was a groundbreaking phone when it was released, yet as time went on, the problems with the phone became very apparent. They increased the screen to 4.3 and removed the Pentile display, so the larger screen looks better, has crisp text and deep colors with 540×960 pixel resolution. Motorola also decreased the thickness of the phone to .40 inches, so while it’s bigger at 4.96 by 2.59 inches, it still fits well into the average size hand. Other than that, it still has the same basic design as the Motorola Atrix. Motorola did remove the fingerprint reader, but they included other security devices, like On Device Encryption.

Also added is an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash that takes crisp and clean pictures with an upgraded video camcorder that records 1080p HD video. Running the Atrix 2 is a dual core 1.5GHz TI OMAP processor. You have the choice between a standard Android keyboard or SWYPE for messaging, texting and web browsing. For the music lovers, an added feature includes the lyrics displayed while the song is playing. While some won’t care, this is a cool and unusual feature to the standard smart phone music player. The sound is deep and full. Web browsing and download speeds are incredibly fast. Motorola improved it’s compatibility with the AT&T network, so download speeds are noticeably better than the original Atrix.

The Motorola i412 from Boost Mobile is a great phone with iDEN push-to-talk feature. For someone looking for a simple phone that will mostly be used for communicating, this is the phone for you. $69.99 without a contract, this is perfect for a tight budget and the call quality is crystal clear. Measuring at 3.8 by 1.9 by 0.79 inches, it’s perfect to slip into your pocket. It has an electric blue body, giving it character. On the outside of the phone is a 1 inch display that shows the battery level, signal strength, date and time. It also has caller and message notification.

Inside is a 1.79 inch display. While this is not the highest quality display, it does the job by letting you make and receive calls, type messages, look at pictures and scroll through the menu. Some options preloaded onto the phone are a calendar, calculator, voice recorder, memo pad, speakerphone and GPS. The camera is VGA quality, ok for snapshots. The i412 does have a web browser, however, it is not meant for extensive web browsing, but is good for checking your email or instant messaging. Measuring 4.8 by 2.6 by 0.39 inches, the phone is a great size to slip into your pocket and is plenty big enough for the 4.1 inch screen. The body has a matte black soft touch exterior, so you don’t need to worry about dropping the phone or it feeling slimy in your hand after holding it for a while. The screen is covered with a scratch resistant glass that ensures the display will function great even if you’re prone to dropping or scratching the screen.
